In October, as we mark the 25th anniversary of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda, where the protection and empowerment of survivors of sexual violence during war and conflict is an integral part, President Osmani welcomed to Prishtina the delegation of the British Government Advisory Board of the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict in War. This delegation included survivors from different countries around the world.
The stories of pain, finding the strength to overcome it and the successes of the participating survivors, as much as inspired us, they also produced discussion and exchange of new ideas towards cooperation. The voice of survivors of sexual violence is vital in designing sustainable and effective policies, in order to ensure all encompassing well-being for all and concrete steps towards the realization of justice.
This meeting, held within the framework of the work of the Regional Center of Excellence for Women, Peace and Security in Kosovo, is one of many activities that will be organized in a continuous manner, with a focus on survivors of sexual violence during war and conflict.
