The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has commemorated the Battle of Çabrat, during which 22 martyrs and 107 civilians lost their lives.
President Osmani stated that the efforts to protect our homes are authentic evidence of the just fight for the freedom we enjoy today.

22 years ago, during the Battle of Çabrat, which began on May 7th and lasted for several days, the fighters of the 137th “Gjakova” Brigade of the Kosovo Liberation Army were positioned in protection of the civilian population facing the terror of the Serbian genocidal forces.
In their three-day endeavors to shield civilians, 22 martyrs and 107 civilians lost their lives.
Efforts to protect our homes are authentic evidence of the just struggle for the freedom we enjoy today.
May the memory of the martyrs and all those heroes who had the courage to fall prey for freedom be eternal!
