President Osmani received the organizations for the protection of children’s rights

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, in the framework of the activities on International Children’s Day, received in a meeting the Children’s Group “Respect Our Rights” (ROR) and the Coalition of Child Protection Organizations (CCPO).

Representatives of the ROR group have informed President Osmani regarding the overall situation  


Reducing poverty among children, their social protection, increasing the quality of education, early childhood development and prevention of violence against children, are the issues that the representatives of the CCPO raised at the meeting with President Osmani, requesting for larger commitment of the state for the youngest.

 

In the meeting with these two organizations, President Osmani stressed that during the five-year term, one of the priorities of her engagement will be precisely the field of protection of children’s rights. Further, President Osmani emphasized that attention to children should not be focused on just one day such as June 1, but on each day of the year.

 

In this context, Mrs. Osmani said that in order to improve the position of children, investment and quality in education should be increased, early education should be prioritized and long-term reforms should be developed. According to President Osmani, children should not only be treated inside their homes, but also by state institutions. She has called on all children and their rights organizations to raise their voices whenever they are violated, pledging institutional support for a better life for them.
