Within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Her Excellency, Dr. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, to the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, at the invitation of His Majesty, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the First Gentleman, Prindon Sadriu, paid a visit to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Defense Academy, where he was received with the highest honors. During this visit, he was accompanied by the President’s military advisor, Brigadier General Dr. Sefer Isufi.
The First Gentleman was welcomed by the Acting Minister of Defense, Pehin Datu Lailaraja, Major General (Ret.) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Hasaimi bin Bol Hassan, as well as by the Commandant of the Academy, Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof.
During the meeting, the institution’s leaders informed the First Gentleman about the organizational structure of the academy, its military doctrine and philosophy, the professional level of the staff, and the modern infrastructure that provides full support for the training and education of cadets and officers. He then visited the work premises, lecture halls, study spaces, military and physical training facilities, as well as recreational and accommodation facilities for cadets and military personnel.
In his speech, the First Gentleman, Lieutenant Colonel (R) Prindon Sadriu, expressed his deep gratitude for the warm hospitality and excellent organization, and highly praised the professional standards of the Academy. He highlighted that the extraordinary reception given to the President of the Republic of Kosovo by the Sultan and the authorities of Brunei is proof of the sincere friendship and strengthening of relations between our two countries and peoples.
Afterwards, the First Gentleman gave a brief presentation to participants from around 30 countries of the world as part of the Command and General Staff course, sharing professional experiences and views on international security issues. He also visited some of the officer training programs being held at this institution.
The discussion also focused on the talks held between President Osmani-Sadriu and His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, on the possibility of expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of defense and security, as well as on initiating a partnership between the armed forces and defense academies of the two countries.
The visit concluded with a working lunch, where discussions were further deepened on the potential for interstate cooperation in the field of defense and military education.
