The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, received today in a farewell meeting the non-resident ambassador of Ireland to Kosovo Ronan Gargan, whom she thanked for his engagement to date during his tenure as the non-resident ambassador to Kosovo and at the same time wished him success in his future engagements.
At the meeting with Ambassador Gargan, President Osmani thanked the state of Ireland for the continuous support it has given to Kosovo from the post-war period to date.
President Osmani emphasized the need for the continuation of the support by Ireland in the process of the Council of Europe membership as well as membership in the EU and in other international organizations.
According to President Osmani, membership in the Council of Europe is for the benefit of guaranteeing and respecting the rights of all citizens, without distinction.
President Osmani also exchanged views with Ambassador Gargan on the latest political and security developments in the country.
President Osmani stated that Kosovo is committed to the implementation of legality in the entire territory of the country as well as to peace and stability, and that it will overcome challenges together with partners and allies.
Ambassador Gargan expressed his sincere gratitude for the cooperation with Kosovo and at the same time expressed the willingness of the Irish state to continue cooperation in new projects through which they would offer their expertise in the field of European integration.
