The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, within the framework of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, participated today at the leaders' panel which discussed the topic of “Regional and global pathways to peace and prosperity”.
According to President Osmani, peace and prosperity are closely linked and are preconditions for a progressive and developed society.
“A peaceful and prosperous environment is the key to any society because it affects all aspects of social development of a country,” said President Osmani. But, according to her, no country can achieve such goals on its own.
“Establishing regional and global cooperation will enable peace and stability, which favours economic development, prosperity and progress,” said President Osmani.
In this context, President Osmani emphasized that the Western Balkans region must imperatively join the Euro-Atlantic structures. President Osmani also said that the only way to maintain peace is clear and direct communication, although according to her, peace is always threatened.
“Despite the extraordinary progress that Kosovo has made as a state, but also our continent, today we all clearly see the threats to peace and security, which are continuous and active,” said President Osmani.
President Osmani concluded her discussion with a message of hope for the cooperation of the democratic world for the preservation of peace: “As the democratic world gathered to end the suffering and genocide in Kosovo in 1999, I am sure that we will also see the same in the case of Ukraine and everywhere else in the world where there is war and suffering.”
