The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani held today a meaningful over-the-phone conversation with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as part of ongoing consultations and coordination with counterparts in allied countries.
During this telephone conversation, they discussed the latest developments in the region, the dialogue with Serbia, bilateral relations with Germany as well as the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in international organisations.
President Steinmeier has evaluated the process of reforms in the Republic of Kosovo, especially in the field of the rule of law, and has expressed support for the Euro-Atlantic path of our country.
President Osmani thanked President Steinmeier for Germany’s continuous support for the full integration of the Republic of Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic institutions while emphasizing the importance of moving forward with the membership process in the Council of Europe.
In relation to the dialogue process with Serbia, the interlocutors agreed on the special momentum that exists in this process after the European proposal, also supported by the USA, while President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo remains committed and constructive to a process that contributes to lasting peace and stability in the region.
