The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka Pula, accompanied by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, paid homage at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Velani on the 37th anniversary of the martyrdom of Afrim Zhitia and Fahri Fazliu.
President Justina Shiroka Pula praised the life and work of the two patriots, emphasizing that their sacrifice remains an inseparable part of the history of Kosovo’s struggle for freedom.
“They did not live to see the day of freedom, but they gave their lives so that this day would come. Their names remain forever linked to this freedom and to our responsibility to build the Kosovo they envisioned—the Kosovo for which they made the ultimate sacrifice,” stated President Shiroka Pula.
