“Today, on Mother Teresa Day, we honour the life and legacy of an Albanian woman who became the conscience of humanity”, Acting President Haxhiu said.
She emphasized that Mother Teresa spent her life alongside those who suffered, the poor, the sick, the lonely and the abandoned.
“She did not seek greatness in words, but in service to others, in dedication and in unconditional respect for the life and dignity of every human being”, the Acting President said.
Speaking about her legacy, Acting President Haxhiu said that Mother Teresa’s Albanian origin is a source of pride, while her work belongs to all of humanity.
“She left behind an example that does not lose its power with the passage of time, and a message that remains equally important for every generation: that we should not pass by a person who is suffering without stopping”, Acting President Haxhiu emphasized.
Concluding her message, Acting President Haxhiu highlighted the importance that the figure and legacy of Mother Teresa hold for Albanians and for humanity as a whole.
“On this 5 September, we remember Mother Teresa with pride and the deepest respect. She remains one of the brightest figures that the Albanian nation has given to the world and a name that humanity everywhere utters with respect”, Acting President Haxhiu said.
