The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu, received today the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Ms. Marta Kos, on her first official visit to Kosovo.
“We discussed the European path of the Republic of Kosovo, the reforms that need to be carried forward and the importance of the enlargement process being fair, credible and based on merit”, emphasized Acting President Haxhiu.
She also stated that Kosovo sees its future in the European Union. According to Acting President Haxhiu, this is the orientation of our citizens, a state project and a strategic choice.
Therefore, she added, we expect that our commitment to democracy, the rule of law and European values will also receive a clear response from the European Union.
“I thanked Commissioner Kos for her visit and for her engagement in the enlargement process. Kosovo remains committed to close cooperation with EU institutions, in the interest of our citizens and a more complete, secure and democratic Europe”, said Acting President Haxhiu.
