During her recent visit to the United States of America, President Osmani held important meetings with senior US officials and Congress representatives, to deepen the strategic partnership between Kosovo and the United States.
As part of this visit, President Osmani met with:
🇺🇸 US Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau, with whom she discussed building of new chapters of strategic cooperation, in line with the vision of the Trump Administration – with a focus on security, development and strategic investments.
🇺🇸 Acting Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Brendan Hanrahan, with whom the commitment to advancing the partnership in key areas such as defense and the economy was reaffirmed again.
🇺🇸 Ambassador Dorothy Shea, Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Mission to the UN, with whom she discussed U.S. support for Kosovo’s full membership in the United Nations, as well as strengthening Kosovo’s international position.
🇺🇸 Senator Andy Kim, with whom she discussed strengthening of cooperation in security, economic development, and innovation.
🇺🇸 Congressman Ritchie Torres, a true friend of Kosovo, with whom she reaffirmed the unwavering commitment to strengthening relations between Kosovo and the United States.
🎙 At the Hudson Institute in Washington D.C., Madam President delivered the keynote address and participated in a discussion on the importance of the US leadership for Europe and the Western Balkans.
🎓 At Johns Hopkins University, Madam President participated in a discussion on Kosovo’s role in the global security architecture and strengthening the transatlantic alliance.
🎙 At the Atlantic Council, in a roundtable discussion and in the presence of diplomats and experts, President Osmani spoke about the latest developments in Kosovo and the Western Balkans, as well as the strategic importance of Kosovo’s membership in NATO.
🎖 In New York, President Osmani bestowed the Presidential medals to some of the greatest contributors of Kosovo’s freedom and independence – members of the Albanian-American diaspora who became the voice, courage and strength of Kosovo during the most difficult days.
🏆 At the invitation of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, President Osmani participated at the official dinner laid by FIFA for the Club World Cup, where she met with prominent personalities from the world of politics and sports.
