The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has said that Venesa, Zijada, Armira, Arbenita and Kaoni are the embodiment of resistance and resilience.
According to Madam President, they are proof that even from the deepest wounds of war, hope, strength and vision for the future can arise.
President Osmani wrote:
Venesa, Zijada, Armira, Arbenita and Kaoni are the embodiment of resistance and resilience. They are proof that even from the deepest wounds of war, hope, strength and vision for the future can arise.
They are an inspiration for how people, like those of Kosovo and Bosnia, can rise again from the ashes of war – more united, more determined and more powerful.
Each of their stories – from experiencing and surviving the horror of war, to transforming those wounds into commitment and strength for peace and justice – is a call to not forget and to move forward, with dignity and courage.
