On April 14th 1999, Serbian paramilitary forces brutally massacred 31 residents of the Kovaçët neighborhood in Mitrovica.
They were killed simply because they were Albanians. They were massacred in their homes and streets, in their neighborhood, where they should have felt safe.
These men, women and children will always be remembered.
The memory of them is a moral obligation and a commitment to truth and justice.
Such crimes are not forgotten, and justice for them remains our constant goal.
