The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani commemorated the days of horror on February 3rd and 4th of the year 2000 in Mitrovica, when 10 civilians were killed by Serbian criminal gangs, 25 were injured and 1,564 families with 11,364 members were evicted from their homes..
President Osmani’s full post:
In memory of the two nights of horror on February 3rd and 4th of the year 2000 in Mitrovica, we honour today the lost lives of 10 innocent citizens, among them old men, women and children, who were ruthlessly killed by criminal gangs, instigated by Serbia.
Respect also to the 25 wounded, who survived and still live with physical and emotional wounds obtained on the night of horrors.
1,564 families with 11,364 members, forcibly displaced from their homes are evidence of the tendency for ethnic cleansing of this part of Mitrovica by criminal groups.
The events of those two nights of horror serve as a sad reminder of the struggle for survival and to protect the freedom achieved with blood and sacrifice.
Bringing the perpetrators of the crime to justice is a necessity for long-term peace!
May the memory of those killed on February 3rd and 4th 2000 in Mitrovica remain eternal !
