The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today the member and spokesperson for the Defense Policy of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag Mr. Florian Hahn, accompanied by the German ambassador to Kosovo Jorn Rohde.
The current political and security situation in the country were discussed at the meeting.
President Osmani expressed her gratitude and great appreciation for the continuous support of the amicable state of Germany in all the processes that our country and people have gone through, as well as the support for our goals towards Euro-Atlantic integration.
Furthermore, Madam President emphasized the need to expand cooperation with Germany in the field of defense and security, as well as the unified stance against destabilizing tendencies towards Kosovo, but also in the region and beyond.
According to the President, Kosovo is strongly committed to its Euro-Atlantic integration path with a clear goal of membership in the EU and NATO.
Regarding Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, President Osmani emphasized that membership is in the interest of all citizens without distinction and that this issue has to do with human rights and freedoms.
