The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani commemorated the hero Sali \u00c7ekaj, on the 24th anniversary of his fall.<\/p>\n

24 years ago, one of the most prominent commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, the hero of the nation, Sali \u00c7ekaj, heroically fell.<\/p>\n
He fell on the battlefield of Koshare, one of the decisive battles not only to break the savage border that separated the Albanians but also the false myth about the invincibility of the Serbian forces.<\/p>\n
Commander \u00c7ekaj was one of the most prominent strategists of the war, an indomitable activist in the efforts of the people of Kosovo for freedom.<\/p>\n
He started his patriotic activity quite early, not deserting it until his heroic fall, on April 19, 1999. Once in Kosovo and then in exile, he demonstrated how one works and dies for the homeland.<\/p>\n
Together with Agim Ramadani and other fellow fighters, Sali joined the Kosovo Liberation Army, where he excelled as a military strategist. As the commander of the 134th Brigade, he left an indelible mark on the organization of the KLA and its struggles for freedom.<\/p>\n
