The special emphasis was the progress and successes in strengthening democracy and the rule of law, which are now internationally recognized. The need to work closely with UN institutions in terms of supporting survivors of sexual violence during the last war in Kosovo was also discussed at the meeting. President Osmani emphasized that it is important to engage directly with the survivors, which is also in the spirit of the Agenda for Women, Peace and Security. Madam President stated that Kosovo serves as an example for the promotion and advancement of this agenda, not only in Kosovo but globally.<\/p>\n
President Osmani pointed out that the ongoing organization of the International Forum for Women, Peace and Security is an example of the Republic of Kosovo’s commitment to advancing this agenda, aiming to create a safer, more peaceful and more inclusive environment for women and girls while strengthening their role in every process. On the subject of the United Nations mission in Kosovo, the President once again reiterated the position of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo that UNMIK has completed the purpose of its mandate.<\/p>\n
