London, November 4. The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Fatmir Sejdiu, met yesterday with the British Undersecretary of State, Chris Bryant, whom he thanked for the continuous support that the Great Britain has provided to our country.<\/p>\n
The meeting, which was also attended by the London-based Republic of Kosovo’s Ambassador to Great Britain, Mr. Muhamet Hamiti, involved a wide discussion on cooperation between the two countries. At the meeting, President Sejdiu said that the Republic of Kosovo has successfully overcome many challenges that it has faced in recent years, though much remains to be done, as ascertained in the European Commission’s Progress Report on Kosovo.<\/p>\n
President Sejdiu praised the achievements made in the field of security and the good performance of EULEX monitoring mission, affirming that rule of law and order throughout the country remains a top priority for Republic of Kosovo’s state institutions.<\/p>\n
“Republic of Kosovo has been recognized by 62 of the world thus far and we are doing our best to ensure that the process moves forward” – President Sejdiu said, asking from Minister Bryant Britain’s continuous assistance in this process, especially in Commonwealth states and other countries on which Britain has a strong influence.<\/p>\n
On his part, Minister Bryant reiterated that Britain has been and remains very committed to helping the Republic of Kosovo in all areas. He assured President Sejdiu that his country will offer all the necessary assistance to strengthen democratic institutions and good governance, laying a particular emphasis on combating the negative phenomena that have affected other countries of the region as well.<\/p>\n
The meeting also discussed approaching elections in Kosovo. Both President Sejdiu and Minister Bryant underscored the importance of these elections for the image of the Republic of Kosovo and called on Kosovo citizens and communities to play an active role in these elections, so as to make sure that November 15 becomes a day of joy for everybody.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
