The Republic of Kosovo is a successful project of freely expressed will and of help and of international support. We will never forget the support of European Union and United States of America, nor we will forget NATO’s intervention in 1999 a humanitarian act that saved my people from genocide, and returned home more than half of the population that were displaced by force.<\/p>\n

\nLadies and Gentlemen<\/p>\n
Best wishes of the people of Kosovo and of mine, for the Independence
\nDay of the United States of America, the country that offered and offers
\nto civilization crucial contribution in development and prosperity, and
\nthe model of democracy especially in protecting peace and stability
\nglobally. <\/p>\n
We recall that the opening of the American Office in Pristina was a
\ndetermining moment for my people and my country in times when freedom
\nand Independence of the Republic of Kosovo was a dream and nationwide
\ngoal; the realization of it with the opening of this Office seemed to be
\ncertain, considering the engagement of the USA in defending human
\nrights and freedoms, in advancing the democratic processes, the rights
\nof people to be free and sovereign, equal and dignified with other
\nnations of the World. <\/p>\n

Honorable participants, <\/p>\n
The Republic of Kosovo is a state of all citizens equal regardless of
\nethnicity, religion, racial and other background because this is our
\nwill and this is indispensable principal of civilization and of European
\nculture, to which my people and my country belongs too. Republic of
\nKosovo will become a member of European Union and NATO, and as soon as
\nthis occurs will be better for the region, for Europe and my people.
\nThis is our joint success that has no other alternative, of the
\ninstitutions of Republic of Kosovo and of the support and international
\nengagement. <\/p>\n
The American model in state building, in the concept of civilization and
\nintertwining of cultures in the international politics remains an
\ninspiration and an good example for my country, in building and
\ndeveloping in all areas, especially in the role that the Republic of
\nKosovo deserves in the region and international politics, by building
\ngood relations with neighboring countries, by participating in all
\nprojects and regional and global initiatives. <\/p>\n
We have become a factor of peace and stability, an example of good
\ncooperation, of respect of integrity, sovereignty and subjectivity of
\nevery country and their population, by building relations that are in
\nthe function of free movement of people, ideas and capital. <\/p>\n
The United States of America is leader country because it has people
\nwith vision, committed people to the country and humankind, particularly
\nleaders that were committed in achieving ideals on which they believed
\nto be best for their country and nation. We have a lot to learn from
\nlives of these great people. Let me mention a saying of President
\nWoodrow Wilson, beloved and respected here, for engagement that every
\nnation has to decide about its fate, as an undeniable right. <\/p>\n
Further, he once said:<\/p>\n
“America is not anything if it consists of each of us. It is something only if it consists of all of us”. <\/p>\n
And in another occasion, he said: <\/p>\n
“The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people”. <\/p>\n
These two principals which I cherish as President of country, assure me
\nthat Kosovo we will build jointly, leaving aside partial interests and
\nby having full consensus for people and state interests of my country. <\/p>\n
Ladies and Gentlemen, <\/p>\n
Let me finish by quoting another famous President of the United States of America, Theodor Roosevelt:<\/p>\n
“ Do what you can, where you are, with what you have.” <\/p>\n
Let’s be assured that by having the voice of the people in our ears and
\nby working with what we can, where we are and with what we have, we
\njointly as leaders and citizens will deliver our best and successful
\nwork, for my country and all humankind.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n
