President of the republic of Kosovo, Mrs Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the Country Director for South Eastern Europe, Ms Jane Armitage and the Country Manager of the World Bank Office in Kosovo Mr Jan-Peter Olters, which whom she discussed the actual development projects, micro economical situation and energy.<\/p>\n
President Jahjaga praised the help that World Bank has provided and continues to provide to Kosovo. She said that the help provided by the World Bank has been very useful for many sectors of the economy and for capacity building of local capacities, as well as towards the improvement of the business environment.<\/p>\n
President Jahjaga stated that Kosovo’s membership in World Bank and International Monetary Fund has helped towards further international recognition of our country and has paved the way for Kosovo’s membership into other regional and international organisations, acts that will help our country in infrastructure building and betterment of the well being of the citizens of the country.<\/p>\n
Ms Armitage praised the achievements of Kosovo during the last four years and stated the importance of preservation of macro financial stability of the country. She said that Kosovo, despite the challenges faced by the global economic crisis, has managed to keep a satisfactory rate of economic growth of 3-4 percent and has maintained the public debt at a low level.<\/p>\n
She also stated the importance of the continuation of the reforms of the key sectors, reforms that will be supported by the World Bank as well, aiming to improve the environment and opening of the new working places.<\/p>\n
Ms Armitage reiterated the importance that the implementation of the “Kosova e Re” energetic project carries for Kosovo and expressed her hope in the fact that this project will be implemented as optimally as possible, with the continuous assistance of the World Bank.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
