President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, has issued a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the proclamation of the Constitutional Statement on July 2nd, 1990.<\/p>\n

Statement states: <\/p>\n

Approval of the Constitutional Statement of July 2nd, 1990, marks one of the most important acts of the institutional organisation in Kosovo and is the foundation stone of the independence process of the Republic of Kosovo.<\/p>\n

July 2nd 1990, is marked as the day of clear articulation of the will and the vision of citizens and institutions of Kosovo for freedom, democracy and independence of the country,\u00a0 will which became reality through the sacrifice, and incessant engagement and endeavours of many generations.
\n\u00a0
\nEighteen years later, on February 17th, 2008, the dream and the will of the citizens became\u00a0 reality through the declaration of the independence of the Republic of Kosovo, a state of equal oportunities for everyone, which has already made great advances towards progress and its clear ambition to become member of EU, NATO and UN and remain in eternal friendship with the USA.<\/p>\n

On this day, we praise and highly value the contribution of the members of the parliament, who, during very harsh times, proclaimed the Constitutional Statement and approved the Constitution of Kacanik on September 7th, 1990, by which they paved the way for the building of the state of Kosovo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
