It is a pleasure for me to open the ceremony in honour of the commencement of the programme of the Plus school, of the Atom project, which will be offering the children with exceptional intelligence, the geniuses of Kosovo, the ability to explore and study their own fields of interest.<\/p>\n
Honourable Rector Gashi,
\nHonourable representatives of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo,
\nHonourable members of the advisory board of the ATOM project and lectures of the Plus School,
\nHonourable pupils and parents,
\nHonourable participants;<\/p>\n
It is a pleasure for me to open the ceremony in honour of the commencement of the programme of the Plus school, of the Atom project, which will be offering the children with exceptional intelligence, the geniuses of Kosovo, the ability to explore and study their own fields of interest.<\/p>\n
I believe that through this project, the Geniuses of Kosovo will improve their abilities and their talents, will preserve their own originality, and will nurture the critical thinking, thinking pattern which Kosovo needs a lot of.<\/p>\n
We are proud of our youth, but we must offer them conditions in which they will be able to decide the direction in which they want to direct their energy and talent, which in turn will mean development, progress and integration onto the family of developed nations, of our country.<\/p>\n
Individuals with exceptional intelligence have the ability to achieve success without the help of others, but they however need the support of the institutions of the country, if we aim for them to be the bearers of the innovations and other scientific, technological and medical advances.
\nIn Kosovo, we had and we continue to have projects which support the all inclusiveness in schools of all marginalised categories – but Kosovo as any other society, must invest on people with special talents in order to stimulate their creativity.<\/p>\n
ATOM is an important project because it determines the manner of support for all children with exceptional intelligence. This long term investment in human resources will be returned to Kosovo in the best possible way, through the development of the Kosovar society in many diverse fields.
\nI personally, in the capacity of the President of the Republic, have been engaged towards the establishment of the Education Fund, because I am committed to the raising of the quality and educational standards in all levels of education.<\/p>\n
It is my aim to create optimal conditions for all children to advance their abilities and their talents as well as studying within the auspices of the institutions of Kosovo’s public education system. Kosovo needs to walk side by side with the global developments, and for this our youngsters must have all the necessary conditions and capacities to engage in scientific research and innovation.<\/p>\n
I congratulate all the psychologists who will be working with over 100 children with exceptional intelligence and I am particularly pleased to note that these children are all between ages of 13 to 18 and oriented towards exact sciences.<\/p>\n
They are the energy and the motives for development, something which Kosovo lacks.
\nThey are the guarantee for an all round development of our country.
\nYou are our pride!
