During this “Week of the Man with the White Stick” we are demonstrating our dedication to offer to you all the opportunities and conditions for an easier, more independent and active life in our society.<\/p>\n
This white stick week is a week of awareness, of human solidarity and the obligation which we all have to respond to the needs of each other, in order to offer to each citizen a dignified life of equal opportunities.

\nToday we speak the language of human solidarity, language which recognises the difficulties faced by your community and of the individual and institutional dedication to help overcome the challenges together.
\n\u00a0
\nToday we praise the work and contribution you provide on daily basis through your engagements in various fields of life. We praise the message you are giving, the message of human courage that you spread throughout your community and the rest of the society –messages of hope and determination not to succumb to the difficulties and the challenges of life.
\nAs we go through your endurances, we also go through the hope and the desire you have to live your lives equally with the others, to be an active participant in this society, to provide your contribution towards building and advancement of this society to a society of equal opportunities for everyone.<\/p>\n
We remain dedicated to adhere to free and democratic societies, whose main developmental aim is the integration of all of its citizens and paving of the roads of opportunity to fulfil their ideals, dreams and realize their potential, regardless.

\nI would like to assure you that I remain dedicated to offer to you my institutional support for the advancement of the necessary opportunities for your community, in order to ensure your full integration in all fields of life.

\nHelen Keller, an American political activist of the turn of the 19th and 20th century, visually impaired and with hearing impediment, was the first person with such difficulties to graduate from the university.

\nShe used to say: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence”.
