President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Tha\u00e7i, participated in the inauguration of the new facility of the Center for the Promotion of Women’s Rights in Drenas.<\/p>\n
During the inauguration, attended also by former president Jahjaga, Turkish Ambassador Kivilcim Kili\u00e7, U.S. Ambassador Greg Delawie, and the British Ambassador Ruairi O’Connell, president Tha\u00e7i congratulated the activists of this center on the opening of the new facility.<\/p>\n
Praising the work of the center, president Tha\u00e7i said that “the work of this center sheds light on an important truth about our society and requires the whole society to deal with this reality”.<\/p>\n
He added that the company is obliged to create conditions for women to be educated, employed, grow and live a safe life, just like the members of the other sex.<\/p>\n
“There is no doubt that our society is making strides. We are the first country in the region that has had a woman president. We have women that lead within the government, the CEC, the Constitutional Court, in municipalities, who are faced with tasks and commitments for building the state of Kosovo. <\/p>\n

Emancipation and empowerment of women, acknowledgment and support of women’s demands, the support of women victims and of all vulnerable groups, will be part of his commitment as the head of state, President Tha\u00e7i stressed.<\/p>\n
“Our society will be truly free, equal, fair only when each and every Kosovan woman will be equal, free and treated fairly by everyone in Kosovo”, President Tha\u00e7i added.<\/p>\n
The Center for the Promotion of Women’s Rights in Drenas was established in 2013 and has a total of over 100 members, civilian victims of Kosovo War.<\/p>\n
Construction of the inaugurated new facility, which has 15 offices, was supported by the Municipality of Drenas, KSF, and the embassies of the United States, United Kingdom and Turkey.
