Prishtina, June 27, 2017 – The President of the country, Hashim Tha\u00e7i, participated today at the marking of the anniversary of Croatia\u2019s National Day in Prishtina, organized by the Croatian Embassy in Kosovo.<\/p>\n
President Tha\u00e7i has said that Kosovo and Croatia have a common history of successful efforts to accomplish the aspiration for freedom, equality and justice.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are together even today because we share the same western civilizational values, therefore our bilateral cooperation and the friendship between the two people is deepening naturally\u201d, said President Tha\u00e7i.<\/p>\n
At the meeting he had this month with President Grabar-Kitarovic, as well as with other leaders of the Croatian state, President Tha\u00e7i said that the traditional friendship, but also the willingness to deepen the cooperation between the two countries has been reconfirmed once again.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have discussed about the opening of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, encouraging cooperation between businesses, cooperation in regional initiatives, cooperation in the integration of the region into the EU, for the cooperation in the field of security. We have also discussed about our communities, of the Croats in Kosovo and the Kosovars in Croatia, which serve as binding bridges between our two countries and which we have to support and strengthen further\u201d, stated President Tha\u00e7i.<\/p>\n
As President of the country, he said that among the first initiatives he has undertaken has been also the one on the electoral reform, which foresees, among other things, a seat in the Assembly of Kosovo, for the Croatian and Montenegrin communities, in order to politically strengthen these two communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am convinced that this issue will be addressed with priority by the Kosovo Assembly, because this way we prove that we are a state that integrates equally all the communities living in Kosovo\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n
President Tha\u00e7i has said that Kosovo is proud of the excellent bilateral relations with Croatia and is convinced that the dedication towards the shared values will help Kosovo to achieve the goals for NATO and EU membership.
