Vlora, November 28, 2017 \u2013 The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Tha\u00e7i, participated today at the ceremony marking the 28th of November which is organized in Vlora.<\/p>\n
President Tha\u00e7i has emphasized that Flag Day is the feast of the national pride and has congratulated all Albanians in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, the Preshevo Valley, Montenegro and wherever they live outside their territories.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 28th of November is a celebration of the restoration of dignity and the strengthening of our national conscience\u201d, said the President, adding that this day marks the moment of detachment from the long captivity and the beginning of the era of modernization of our nation.<\/p>\n
It was the National Renaissance, the ever-growing uprisings against the fractioning of Albanian lands since the Albanian League of Prizren and up to the uprisings of 1908-1912, according to President Tha\u00e7i, which led to the moment of the Declaration of Independence on November 28, 1912.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn this day it is impossible not to remember all those patriots, visionary statesmen, men and women, who generation after generation over the centuries contributed to come to the Declaration of Independence\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
President Tha\u00e7i has linked the 105th anniversary of the Independence of Albania also with the 10th anniversary of the Independence of Kosovo and the inauguration of the nationwide year of Gjergj Kastrioti- Skanderbeg.<\/p>\n
Nearly a century after the establishment of the Albanian state, he said that Kosovo was finally liberated thanks to the incessant efforts that were crowned with the fair struggle of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which found support from the democratic world, the United States of America, the European Union and NATO.<\/p>\n
The President has said that Albanians have never been in a better historical, actual and factual position.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlbania is a member of the most powerful military organization in the world, NATO. Kosovo is a free and sovereign state. We are a nation in two sovereign states. Both of our countries have a dream. Have a purpose. The integration into the Euro-Atlantic institutions\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n
President Tha\u00e7i has said that with this philosophy and clear orientation towards the western democratic values, Kosovo and Albania today develop mutual economic, cultural and political relations as never before.<\/p>\n
\u201cYesterday, the governments of our two countries held a joint meeting in Kor\u00e7a. Today, we celebrate together in Vlora. Both our countries give clear messages that we are committed to the peace, stability and prosperity of the region\u201d, he added. <\/p>\n
The Head of State has said that Vlora has united the Albanians of all the territories, while for Kosovo the name of the city of Vlora goes beyond historical meaning.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe name of Vlora, but also of the other cities of Albania, the parents in Kosovo gave to girls as a sign of the national identity and the love for the motherland\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
