Prishtina, January 21st 2019 \u2013 President of the country, Hashim Tha\u00e7i, decreed today 37 new judges of the Republic of Kosovo. At a solemn ceremony, in front of President Tha\u00e7i, new judges, seven of which of the Serbian community, swore that during the exercising of their duties, they shall remain faithful to the Republic of Kosovo, the Constitution, the laws in force and will respect the rules of professional ethics, and shall carry out in faithfulness, in an independent, professional and unbiased manner, the tasks and duties assigned to them.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday is a special day for the Republic of Kosovo, as thirty seven new judges are joining the judicial system. Kosovo has continuously undertaken, and continues to\u00a0 carry out reforms of the judicial system, with the sole purpose to ensure the best functioning of the judicial system, to ensure proper rule of law in our state\u201d, said President Tha\u00e7i. <\/p>\n
The head of state said that last year responsible institutions had worked hard towards drafting, approval and promulgation of important laws, which have further advanced our judicial system.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe state of Kosovo is built upon constitutional principles of all-inclusiveness, of equality and of the freedom of each individual to fulfil oneself and to search for happiness without his\/her right to be a part of the Kosovar society ever being violated. Republic of Kosovo has approved adequate measures to promote full and efficient equality of all community members in economic, social, political and cultural fields of life. Even today, the decreeing and swearing of the oath of these judges, fully reflects the multi ethnic nature of the Republic of Kosovo\u201d, said President Tha\u00e7i. <\/p>\n
The head of state also added that judges play a great role in the lives of citizens, in realization of their rights and in ensuring the equal access to justice, irrespective of their gender, race, religion or ethnic background.<\/p>\n
Judges carry a great responsibility on their shoulders, said President Tha\u00e7i, which, according to the president, they will know how to carry, and that the citizens of our country will feel safe and equal in front of the law.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
