{"id":67811,"date":"2019-11-18T11:09:07","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T10:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.president-ksgov.net\/president-thaci-religion-in-kosovo-in-service-to-the-strengthening-of-peace-and-tolerance\/"},"modified":"2023-03-07T09:19:31","modified_gmt":"2023-03-07T09:19:31","slug":"president-thaci-religion-in-kosovo-in-service-to-the-strengthening-of-peace-and-tolerance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/president-ksgov.net\/en\/president-thaci-religion-in-kosovo-in-service-to-the-strengthening-of-peace-and-tolerance\/","title":{"rendered":"President Tha\u00e7i: Religion in Kosovo in service to the strengthening of peace and tolerance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tirana, November 18th 2019 \u2013 President of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Tha\u00e7i, participated today at the \u201cReligion as instrument of peace\u201d conference organised by the President of the Republic of Albania Ilir Meta, in cooperation with US State Department in Tirana.<\/p>\n<p>President Tha\u00e7i stated that Kosovo is an example on how religion helps in building and strengthening of the peace.<\/p>\n<p>Counting Kosovo\u2019s achievements in this field, President Tha\u00e7i mentioned as an initial achievement the fact that during the war in Kosovo it was not allowed for the religion to be implicated, and speaking about the post war period, he mentioned the role of religion in peace building and tolerance, but also the fighting of radical and extremist religion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAllow me to speak a bit about Kosovo\u2019s experience with religion and peace and to list some of the achievements of ours. The first one is that we have not allowed the religion to be implicated in Kosovo\u2019s war for liberation and independence,\u201d said President Tha\u00e7i.<\/p>\n<p>The second achievement, according to President Tha\u00e7i, is that Kosovo has included the religion and religious leaders in its endeavors to build peace and understanding between people since the end of the war.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of my first initiatives as the President of the Republic of Kosovo, was the establishment of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
