Prishtina, January 17, 2020 \u2013 The President of state, Hashim Tha\u00e7i, attended today the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Tax Administration of Kosovo.<\/p>\n
President Tha\u00e7i said that twenty years ago, with the decision to establish the Tax Administration, we laid the foundations of a structure that enables tax collection throughout Kosovo.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Tax Administration of Kosovo has been built from the beginning, like many other institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, but which have achieved colossal success today. Initially, together with international partners, we had to build the legal framework, to increase the capacities, and then to educate citizens for payment. But, most importantly, the trust of the Kosovo citizens in TAK had to be built\u201d, stated President Tha\u00e7i.<\/p>\n
The Head of State thanked the international partners for their support, especially USAID, the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour assistance has been and remains essential for the success of the TAK. But all the locals, the Kosovars who have worked during these 20 years, at different times, both during the UNMIK administration but also in the period of independent and sovereign Kosovo, deserve a big thanks\u201d, said President Tha\u00e7i.

\nPresident Tha\u00e7i emphasized that TAK today operates in line with the best international best practices, providing services to the taxpayers and all citizens of Kosovo.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course there are still challenges, and also problems which must be overcome, which must be resolved, for which I have full confidence in the leadership authorities supported by all relevant state institutions and best international practices. TAK is on the good path, it has achieved a lot and is on its way to achieve even more. This will only strengthen the state of Kosovo, Kosovo\u2019s economy and the civic confidence\u201d, said President Tha\u00e7i.

\nIn the end, President Tha\u00e7i congratulated all the employees of the TAK on the 20th anniversary of this institution, demanding an even greater commitment from them to fight fiscal informality.
