Prishtina, July 20th 2020 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Tha\u00e7i received today the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, Lulzim Basha, with whom he discussed the developments in Kosovo and in Albania and the possibilities for better inter-Albanian cooperation.<\/p>\n
President Tha\u00e7i emphasized that Kosovo's destination is to become part of NATO and the European Union as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cAny positive experience from Albania and personal experience in this process, especially for visa liberalization, is important to us as institutions of the country,” said President Tha\u00e7i.<\/p>\n
He stressed that it is important to continue to build the widest possible consensus on engagements towards a European perspective, for concrete steps, in particular now for visa liberalization and dialogue with Serbia.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor us it is vital to have a coordination between the political spectrum in Kosovo, a consensus as broad and as comprehensive as possible, in order for it to be an engagement of the unity of citizens, civil society, politics, parties, of the institutions. Albania's contribution has always been welcome,” said President Tha\u00e7i.<\/p>\n
The head of state further said that it is vital that the international factor is coordinated.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is also vital for us that the international factor is coordinated, first the European Union to be unified, but also a close coordination between Washington and Brussels, in order\u00a0 for it to be a safe, credible and acceptable process for the citizens of Kosovo, which should be concluded not in the technical aspect, because we have discussed the technical aspects for nine years now 2011-2019, but to be concluded with mutual recognition as soon as possible “, said President Tha\u00e7i.<\/p>\n
Whereas, the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, Lulzim Basha, expressed his support for President Tha\u00e7i and for the consistent\u00a0 stance in support of the dialogue and in support of the creation of unity between all political forces in Kosovo.<\/p>\n
“It is my and the Democratic Party's view that coordination between all Kosovo political forces and their cooperation only strengthens and empowers Kosovo with the challenges it is currently facing,” said Basha, stating that as a party of Euro-Atlantic orientation it emphasizes the conviction and belief that close coordination between the United States of America and the European Union has been and remains a prerequisite for the success of any initiative in relation to the final stabilization and European and Euro-Atlantic perspective of all countries in our region.<\/p>\n
I express my conviction that such a coordination will strengthen and accelerate the dialogue process with the aim of mutual recognition between the Republic of Kosovo and that of Serbia,” said Basha. <\/p>\n
The leader of the Albanian opposition has expressed his and the Democratic Party's total support for all the positions of the heads of institutions and politics in Kosovo.<\/p>\n
