The President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani received today the President of Slovenia,
\nMr. Borut Pahor. They initially held a meeting during which they discussed issues of mutual interest and concluded with a joint press conference.<\/p>\n
During the discussion with President Pahor, President Osmani
\npointed out that Slovenia had sided with the Kosovo independence movement and
\nthat Kosovo's independence has stabilized the region.<\/p>\n

\nThe head of state also discussed with President Pahor
\nKosovo's membership in the EU and NATO, processes these during which Kosovo
\nneeds Slovenia\u2019s support.<\/p>\n
“It is necessary that Slovenia assists Kosovo in the
\nprocess of document preparation for European integration, and for Slovenia, as
\na member state of the EU and NATO, to also lobby for membership and rapid
\nintegration of the Western Balkan countries,” said President Osmani.<\/p>\n

\nFurthermore, President Osmani and her counterpart Pahor
\ndiscussed the visa liberalization process, with President Osmani stating that
\nSlovenia's support in this process is extremely important, particularly in
\nlobbying the hesitant countries.<\/p>\n

\nPresident Pahor and President Osmani also discussed the
\nsituation with Covid 19and she asked Slovenia for help in provision of
\nvaccines. The exchange of experiences for successful pandemic management was
\nalso discussed.<\/p>\n

\nAmong other things discussed at the meeting between the
\nPresident of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani and the President of Slovenia
\nBorut Pahor was the Brdo Process, on which President Osmani stressed the
\nimportance of accepting of the truth as a precondition for lasting peace.<\/p>\n

\n“Reconciliation and peace in the region – the
\nrecognition of the truth and the acceptance of reality; mutual assistance and
\nencouragement in resolving of the outstanding issues, whether bilateral or
\nmultilateral; the realization of the common interests of all countries in the
\nregion to join the EU (and some even NATO); as well as the deepening of all
\ntypes of cooperation, first of all economic, as well as the consolidation of
\nneighborly relations as a foundation for peace and prosperity of all countries
\nand all peoples of the region “, said the President.<\/p>\n
