The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani in continuation of the meetings held in New York, met with her Latvian counterpart Egils Levits, with whom she discussed bilateral relations, the current situation in Kosovo, in the region and beyond and the consequences of recent developments following Russia's war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n
President Osmani thanked President Levits for the support he has given to Kosovo, especially in terms of international consolidation.<\/p>\n
In this regard, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe is necessary for the protection of the rights of Kosovo's citizens regardless of affiliation.<\/p>\n
The latest developments in Putin's unprovoked war against Ukraine and their consequences in relation to peace and security on the European continent were also discussed at the meeting. President Osmani underlined that Kosovo is completely in line with the positions of the USA, Great Britain, NATO and the EU against Russia's war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n
President Osmani and her counterpart Levits also discussed the expansion of bilateral relations and their elevation to the level of strategic partnership in the field of defense, cyber security and digitalization.<\/p>\n
