\nA decade ago, October 11th began to be marked as the day of the girl child. A day dedicated to them means more attention and more equal opportunities.<\/p>\n
This day aims to address the needs and challenges faced by girls and at the same time promotes the empowerment of girls and their rights.<\/p>\n
Today our girls have become models of inspiration.<\/p>\n
From Majlinda, to Nora, to Distria, Dua, Rita to our gorgeous Medina, they make us all proud.<\/p>\n
They have become the best ambassadors of our country. They are the image of today, they are the personification of our Republic. Therefore, we should all be proud of the extraordinary potential of our children.<\/p>\n
Although our girls prove every day that they are worthy fighters against inequality, stereotypes and discrimination, it is not enough and we must continue our effort to ensure that girl children have a safe life, education, full health and equal chances to shine whenever and wherever.<\/p>\n
We must create the opportunity for girls to realize their full potential, just as boys also have those opportunities..\u00a0<\/p>\n
Nothing more than doing what they want and what to decide to do with their lives.<\/p>\n
This is a daily obligation of ours and a prerequisite for social transformation, through which children are given opportunities to eliminate all the challenges they face.<\/p>\n
The more powerful our children are, and as equal as the girls and boys are, the more powerful the women and men of tomorrow will be.<\/p>\n
This objective of ours guides our work. I would also like to quote a statement from Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who, as you know, passed away a few days ago. She said: \u201cWhen life seems hard, the courageous do not lie down and accept defeat; instead, they are all the more determined to struggle for a better future.”<\/p>\n
Our girls and boys have courage. Their courage is hope for change and an obligation for each of us to strive for an equal society, where equal opportunities become our way of life.

\nOctober is not only the month of girls but also the month of awareness for people with Down syndrome. They are like us, similar and different, but equal. Every child should have the right and the opportunity to reach their true potential, that's why we need not only inclusive education but an inclusive society, where every member of our society supports every other member.<\/p>\n
Only by not prejudging and not creating social exclusions, but by including everyone in decision-making, children with Down syndrome will be able to feel an equal and integrated part of our society.<\/p>\n
For our children, it is not enough to work and talk for just one day. Children with Down syndrome need us every day of their lives. Every day of theirs is also our day, and every day of ours puts the care of each category of our society at the centre of attention.<\/p>\n
People with Down syndrome, and especially exceptional children with Down syndrome, have the right and great potential to feel as an equal part of our society and to contribute to our society. Therefore, we must support them to the maximum and we will do so. We are richer in diversity, hence people with Down syndrome deserve a life with dignity, an active life, a comprehensive life, and contributing to the community and to society.
