The President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani participated today in the official opening of the Organization of La Francophonie Summit of the heads of states and met with a number of heads of state and delegations of different countries who were present at this summit that gathered 88 states.<\/p>\n
At the opening of the summit, a discussion was held on the common values that the Organization of La Francophonie cultivates, including cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity, as well as its basic principles, such as sustainable economic, political and social development. At the summit, Madam President was welcomed by the President of Tunisia Kais Saied and the Prime Minister of Tunisia,Najla Bouden, followed by the Secretary General of La Francophonie, Louise Mushikiwabo. Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the summit, the President had discussions with Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, Emmanuel Macron the President of France, Charles Michel the President of the European Council, Alexander De Croo, the Prime Minister of Belgium, Macky Sall, President of Senegal, Paul Kagame the President of Rwanda, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani the President of Mauritania, Nikol Pashinyan the Prime Minister of Armenia, President of Slovenia Borut Pahor, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State of Qatar Mr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, with Ioannis Kasoulides the Foreign Minister of Cyprus, Sylvie Ba\u00efpo Temon the\u00a0 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic, Moussa Faki the Chairman of the African Union Commission, and with other participating leaders.<\/p>\n
Afterward, President Osmani delivered an address at the first plenary session of La Francophonie Summit, which was dedicated to developments in the field of digitalization. In her address, the President emphasized that as a member of the large 88-member Francophonie family, it is up to the states to convey important messages, not only for peace in the world but also for the development opportunities in the digital age, which have become necessary, particularly after the challenges we faced during the pandemic.<\/p>\n
The president emphasized that the general values, such as solidarity, diversity and equality, promoted by the International Organization of La Francophonie, can influence the creation of a common approach as a response to challenges.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, President Osmani spoke about digitization as an important vector of sustainable development, focusing on the impact it has on the acceleration of economic and social development. She emphasized that Kosovo is a success story in the development of the information and communication technology sector and added that Kosovo is working persistently to reduce the gap between men and women in all areas of life, including technological development. According to President Osmani, rapid technological development should prepare us for the answers to the challenges of the future.<\/p>\n
