The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received today a high-level delegation of the US State Department, led by the senior official Mr. Derek Chollet, accompanied by the US Ambassador to Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Gabriel Escobar, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Spencer Boyer, as well as other representatives of the State Department and of the US Embassy.<\/p>\n
President Osmani and Mr. Chollet confirmed the excellent relations with the United States, the main ally of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as committed to further strengthening the cooperation between the two countries. President Osmani thanked Mr. Chollet for the proactive engagement of the United States in the dialogue process, emphasizing that increased American engagement in this regard is crucial to ensuring a successful outcome to the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.<\/p>\n
President Osmani said that the final agreement, which should be centered on mutual recognition, is aimed at improving the lives of citizens and achieving sustainable and long-term peace in the region. “Kosovo is ready to continue, with the utmost commitment, to be a constructive party, coordinated with the USA, by presenting proposals that contribute to the reaching of such an agreement,” said President Osmani.<\/p>\n
At the meeting with Mr. Chollet, President Osmani talked about the latest developments in the country and the region, emphasizing the alliance and closeness of Serbia with Russia and the dangers that this report presents not only to Kosovo but also to the Euro-Atlantic alliance. President Osmani emphasized that with the support of Russia, Serbia continues to be a destabilizing force and a threat to sustainable peace in the region.<\/p>\n
President Osmani confirmed at the meeting with the high American delegation the historic and unbreakable partnership between the USA and Kosovo, with it being precisely a strong basis for the increase of cooperation in the military and economic fields.
