Honourable citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,<\/p>\n
Dear diaspora,<\/strong><\/p>\n Honourable international friends of our country,<\/p>\n The clock is rapidly moving towards midnight, and as we stand on the threshold of a new year,<\/p>\n I express my warmest wishes for health, happiness and prosperity for you and your families.<\/p>\n Days like this are special. They make us look back on the path of the year we are leaving behind, firmly hoping that we have done our best and wishing that in the coming year we will act and work even better.<\/p>\n Indeed, the year 2024 has not always been easy – we have been faced with challenges, ranging from economy to security.<\/p>\n But, we stood firm, side by side, overcoming obstacles with unwavering determination. These challenges remind us of our responsibility to preserve our state, our sovereignty, and our peace for future generations.<\/p>\n And despite the difficult situations, we once again demonstrated our resilience and dedication to forge new paths and eliminate obstacles on our collective journey.<\/p>\n We demonstrated this best when our films reached the Cannes Film Festival and when we received a Special Award at the Venice Biennale; when our judokas won two Olympic medals at the Paris Olympic Games, when Kosovo won gold medals at festivals in Spain, and likewise, when we reaped continuous successes in the fields of Information Technology, innovation, and when Kosovo businesses penetrated international markets. This year, we strengthened the security sector, established new friendships, and ensured Kosovo\u2019s participation and representation at the largest and most important global forums, events, and summits. We proved to the world that Kosovo has extraordinary potential and that our people always shine when given equal opportunities.<\/p>\n Kosovo, as an example of the most developed democracy in the region, has proven that with hard work and continuous engagements, a just and equal society can be built for all.<\/p>\n Our dream of an even more prosperous Kosovo, with greater dignity, and even more opportunities and well-being for every family continues.<\/p>\n The path may be difficult, but we know that no dream is unattainable when we are together, and when courage, healthy ambition, and principles guide us.<\/p>\n As we step into 2025, we will continue to walk with confident steps towards the Euro-Atlantic family, securing our future as contributors to global peace, stability, and democracy.<\/p>\n And while our vision remains unwavering, my thoughts and hearts today are with all those who, for one reason or another, are awaiting the new year without their loved ones by their side; with all those who are fighting hard for their lives; with all the workers on the front-line services; and with all the everyday heroes and heroines of the year we are leaving behind.<\/p>\n As we prepare to raise our glasses, I hope that 2025 will bring peace where war reigns; bring calm where there is no comfort; bring health where there is a struggle with illness; bring security to homes under whose roofs violence unfortunately still finds shelter; bring equality \u2013 equality in opportunities, in representation; treatment and respect.<\/p>\n Tonight, as we wait for midnight, let us move forward with the experience and lessons gained in the year we are leaving behind. Let us enter the 2025 with hope, determination and commitment.<\/p>\n Kosovo is our common home and together, on each and every day, we will continue our engagements to make it a place of even greater opportunities, dignity and pride.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Happy New Year, dear citizens!<\/p>\n I wish that the year 2025 will bring joy, success and endless opportunities to you and your families!<\/p>\n And last but not least, a message to our diaspora:<\/p>\n These days, not only the streets have been filled, but also smiles, joy and happiness have also grown. To all our diaspora who are spending this end of the year in their homeland, the warmest and most sincere congratulations. These are the best moments to share the joy of the holidays with those you love most. Kosovo remains your permanent home.
