The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today hosted the Chief of European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav, who submitted to her the European Commission Kosovo Report 2024.<\/p>\n
This year’s report positively assesses Kosovo’s progress in some areas, as well as identifies challenges in some other areas. On this occasion, President Osmani emphasized that the Republic of Kosovo remains steadfast in its commitment to EU integration.<\/p>\n
In this spirit, President Osmani said that the expansion of the EU will contribute not only to the prosperity and sustainable development of Kosovo, but also to long-term peace and security in the region and beyond.<\/p>\n
Further, President Osmani stated that Kosovo continues to be at the forefront of reforms and is fully harmonized with the EU’s foreign and security policy, an element that was also highlighted in the report.<\/p>\n
The meeting also discussed the report findings, which underline the need to address non-compliances in specific fields. The President noted that these findings should be addressed with priority, in order to further enhance democracy and rule of law.<\/p>\n
The President stressed that it is very important that the report highlighted the need to repeat the process for the election of the Chief State Prosecutor, respecting the principles of transparency and meritocracy.<\/p>\n
