The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, hosted in a meeting today the United Kingdom Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach.<\/p>\n
Kosovo\u2019s membership in the Council of Europe, the latest developments in the country and the region, as well as security challenges in the region and beyond were discussed during the meeting.<\/p>\n
On the topic of the Council of Europe, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo\u2019s membership would be a triumph for democracy and human rights not only in Kosovo but throughout Europe. Furthermore, President Osmani reiterated that through various mechanisms provided by the Council, the protection and guarantee of the rights of all citizens of Kosovo, without distinction, would be ensured.<\/p>\n
President Osmani expressed gratitude and reiterated the importance of the continuous support extended by the United Kingdom in this direction, as in every other process of membership in international organizations.<\/p>\n
