President Jahjagas speech at the Gala evening held by the Kosovo American Education FundI accepted with pleasure the invitation made to me by KAEF to join the initiative in support of a cause with such a particular importance for our youth and for the augmentation of education.
Honourable representatives of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo,
Honourable Deputy-Prime Minister Kusari,
Honourable Ambassador Jacobson,
Honourable General Clark
I accepted with pleasure the invitation made to me by KAEF to join the initiative in support of a cause with such a particular importance for our youth and for the augmentation of education.
Many young men and women of Kosovo have benefited from this project, who went on to contribute and initiate changes in our society through the knowledge and experience they gained in some of the most prestigious institutions of the USA.
Education is the holding pillar of every society; it is a powerful tool for the development of a state that guarantees the development of an advanced society.
The utmost treasure of Kosovo is its youth. A well behaved and well educated youth, full of vigour and energy to contribute towards the development and strengthening of democracy.
Students of Kosovo share the same dreams and ideals with their peers all around the world, hence us, as a society, must find ways to create as many opportunities as possible that would offer them high quality education inside Kosovo and abroad, as well as employment opportunities so that the knowledge and professionalism they gained may be offered as service to the people, fatherland and advancement.
They are the best Ambassadors of Kosovo, because they express the values of our society, standing equal with their colleagues from all over the world.
I congratulate KAEF, Kosovo American Education Fund, for their role in opening of the new horizons of knowledge for a number of outstanding Kosovar students.
Kosovo has a need for the energy, knowledge and experience that KAEF scholars provide through their work at various institutions of the country.
The civic responsibility and solidarity that is being highlighted here tonight, is the spirit which has led our society for many years, as a dedication for the strengthening and advancement of the country.
I congratulate the new scholars with strong belief in their success.
