Preparatory Team on the establishment of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission commenced with its first public consultation, with the group of civilian victims and family members of the missing people. At this consultative process, the team foresees to include other groups of citizens, in order to expand the inclusiveness and to establish a legal foundation based on the needs and requirements of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
At the consultations held with the representatives of the civilian victims and of the missing persons from Ferizaj, Mitrovica, Malisheva, Drenas, Skenderaj, Krusha e Madhe, Fushë Kosova and Deçan, where they expressed their concerns related to their loved ones and their expectations from state mechanisms in overcoming their pain and suffering. They also provided many recommendations related to the establishment and functioning of the Commission, as the process was considered to be very sensitive and important to the future of the country and to coming generations.
Public consultations are open to all groups targeted by the Preparatory Team and are a good opportunity to influence the Commission on the right direction.
