Today, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani – Sadriu together with the
Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo Glauk Konjufca and the Prime Minister Albin Kurti paid
homage at the cemeteries of heroes and martyrs in Pristina and Makoc.
President Osmani said that the Martyrs' Day of the Prishtina region is one of the days when we all come together to honour the sublime sacrifice that each of the heroes and martyrs of this region made in order for us to can enjoy the freedom today.
“We must talk to the younger generations, the new generations, about the bravery of the martyrs of Kosovo, the martyrs who as part of our liberation war, as part of the KLA, fell while defending Kosovo,” said President Osmani.
While honouring the martyrs of this region, President Osmani said that we should all insist that there must be justice for the victims of the Serbian genocide against the Albanian people of Kosovo.
“There can be no lasting peace without justice for these victims,” said Ms. Osmani.
