Prishtina, May 26, 2020 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has visited today the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and talked to the business community about the recovery of the country’s economy.
President Thaçi thanked the business community for the care they have shown to the workers during this time of the pandemic, which was not an easy time for the country, for the institutions and the whole society.
He also thanked all the doctors, nurses and medical staff who have done an excellent job to successfully deal with the pandemic.
“Since Kosovo, like the other countries in the region, is gradually but successfully overcoming this emergency situation of Covid 19, it is naturally an obligation to all of us as institutions of the country, chambers of commerce and all the mechanisms of the Kosovar society, the civil society, the media and all of us to return to a maximum commitment to restore life as normal as possible, but at the same time, especially for economic recovery. In this regard, we will all work together, because it is vital to produce a complete, clear, necessary package and of course in accordance with the interests and needs of the business, in order to have a return to economic activities. Also, we directly have a special interest in the private sector, in the care that must continue to be shown to workers, to continue production and at the same time to see all the other measures that we can take as institutions, I’m talking about a joint commitment of the political spectrum in order to have a success in the future as well”, said President Thaçi.
He said that we must also continue with the full implementation of all capital investments, which have been in the process and of course the opening of other investment opportunities that are necessary for the continuation of economic development, as well as for the creation of new jobs, but also to increase the social welfare of the citizens.
The Head of State has said that together we will be able to come up with a new policy, with a serious and clear, successful and comprehensive approach.
