The President talks with the ambassadors of Quint and the EU about developments in Kosovo

Prishtina, April 15, 2020 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met today with the ambassadors of the Quint countries and the EU representative in Kosovo to discuss about the developments in Kosovo.

In this meeting, which was attended by the Ambassador of the USA, the Ambassadors of the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy, as well as the Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, President Thaçi thanked all countries for the support they have given to Kosovo to face the pandemic of the COVID19 virus and has expressed condolences for the victims in every country.

“Together we are fighting the pandemic and we must all cooperate, in Kosovo, in the region and in the world”, said President Thaçi.

The Head of State also spoke about the political developments and the demands he addressed to the Leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, as the winner of the elections of October 6th of last year, to propose a candidate for Prime Minister of Kosovo, after the voting of the no-confidence motion against the Kurti Government.

“The citizens of Kosovo request and need a government with a full mandate, especially in the emergency circumstances caused by pandemics”, said President Thaçi.

He added that every step he will undertake will be in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the country, with the practices so far and with the will of the political parties represented in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.
