The President: Strengthening existing alliances and creating new ones remains a strategic goal of our foreign policy

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu concluded her visit to Qatar where she stayed upon an invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

President Osmani at the end of the visit to the State of Qatar expressed her pleasure that this was an excellent opportunity to put Kosovo on the international map of discussions on current global challenges, as a proven factor for peace and stability.

“Kosovo may be a small country by landmass, but our voice is strong and it is important that our history is heard in every corner of the world,” said the President.

The head of state said that during the visit, she had the opportunity to meet the leaders of the state of Qatar, representatives of recognizing and non-recognizing states, friends of Kosovo and representatives of countries with which we are working on intensification of interstate relations.

Below is President Osmani's entire post:

Strengthening existing alliances and creating new ones remains a strategic goal of our foreign policy.

this was an excellent opportunity to put Kosovo on the international map of discussions on current global challenges, as a proven factor for peace and stability. Kosovo may be a small country by landmass, but our voice is strong and it is important that our history is heard in every corner of the world.

I had the opportunity to meet the leaders of the state of Qatar, representatives of recognizing and non-recognizing states, friends of Kosovo and representatives of countries with which we are working on intensification of interstate relations. In the closing speech at the Doha Forum, in front of hundreds of participants from all over the world, I presented Kosovo's perspective on the latest global developments.

I also met with representatives of the business community to whom we expressed the readiness of our institutions to further expand the cooperation in areas with potential for investment in Kosovo, the Qatar Foundation and institutes from different countries. No visit is complete without discussions with the academic community and our compatriots, so I had the pleasure to address hundreds of scholars and talk to Albanians who work and operate in Qatar.
