The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has commemorated Nekibe Kelmendi on the tenth anniversary of her passing away into eternity.

President Osmani said that she was one of the most prominent intellectuals of Kosovo and a staunch activist for the independence of our country. "As one of the first lawyers in Kosovo, throughout her life, she did not stop working to protect Kosovo's right to be free and independent," said President Osmani.
Following is President Osmani's entire post:

Ten years ago Mrs. Nekibe Kelmendi passed into eternity. She was one of the most prominent intellectuals of Kosovo and a staunch activist for the independence of our country.
As one of the first lawyers in Kosovo, throughout her life, she did not stop working to defend Kosovo's right to be free and independent.

As a model of an emancipated and courageous woman, she enjoyed the respect of everyone,  for her commitment to the realisation of the state of Kosovo.
Mrs. Kelmendi set the example of how an invincible woman should be, who despite the difficulties and challenges never gave up, even when Kosovo's and her tragic fate took away her husband and her two sons. She turned this loss into a means of resistance and a means of political interaction.
She found the strength to turn the loss into motivation for even greater work for her and the nation's ideals. She did not give up when faced with difficulties and hindrances. Her example of preserving the unique judicial system in Kosovo to this day remains one of the valuable examples for the implementation of Kosovo's statehood.

Today, Kosovo needs dignified men and women with integrity just like Nekibe.
