The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga is honored with a recognition by the Group of Women Deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, was honored with recognition by the Group of Women Deputies of the Kosovo Assembly, for her commitment and work. On behalf of the Group of Women Deputies, the deputy Teuta Sahatçija awarded the recognition to President Jahjaga, who said that the recognition is awarded to the President for accountability, prudence and care for the state and citizens.

“For your commitment to the case as the one of the endangerment of the gender quota, the appointment of ambassadors, for supporting the woman week and many other things, we would like to thank you and express our respect with a recognition”, said Mrs. Sahatçija.

The recognition of the Group of Women Deputies was awarded to President Jahjaga at the conclusion of the Woman’s Week, organized by NDI (National Democratic Institute) in collaboration with the Group of Women Deputies, and in support of USAID.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, thanked the Group of Women Deputies for the recognition and said that she shared it together with them and all women in Kosovo. In her address of gratitude President Jahjaga said:

“Honored lady deputies,

Accept my heartfelt gratitude for this consideration you are making me today. This award does not belong to me only; I share it with you, because you and your work, as well as the contribution of the Kosovar woman in our journey towards independence and state building, you are my inspiration.

Thanks to the hard work and sacrifices of several generations of women before us, today we participate proudly as equal in the state-building and the advancement of our society.

I accept this award as a boost and encouragement to continue my work to improve the position of women in our society, because no society can advance without the advancement of women”, said in her address of gratitude, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, after having been awarded the recognition from the Group of Women Deputies of the Assembly.
