The President of the Republic of Kosovo met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Free State of Bavaria

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madame Atifete Jahjaga, met in Munich with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Free State of Bavaria, Mr. Joachim Herrmann.

President Jahjaga and Mr. Herrmann discussed about the developments in Kosovo and the possibilities of cooperation between two places, especially in the security field.

President Jahjaga, thanked Mr. Herrmann for the contribution of that Germany has given for freedom, state-building and the consolidation of the state of Kosovo, for the recognition of the independence, the investments made as well as for the presence of the German soldiers within KFOR and the police, earlier in the framework of UNMIK and now part of EULEX.

President Jahjaga and Mr. Herrmann discussed about the possibilities for cooperation and exchange of experiences between the police of the countries, in the fight against contraband and organized crime.

President Jahjaga, said it would be important for Kosovo to be part of the international security mechanisms such as Europol and Interpol.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Herrmann thanked President Jahjaga for her visit and expressed readiness for mutual cooperation. He offered support for the state of Kosovo, especially in the exchange of experiences and the training of security structures in Kosovo to fight organized crime and smuggling.
