Calabria/Cosenza, June 23, 2017 – During his stay in Cosenza, President Thaçi has also visited the University of Cosenza, which is one of Italy’s largest and most prestigious universities.
President Thaçi was received there by the Rector of the University, who presented the work of the institution, including in particular the contribution of the Department of Albanology.
“In this University, young people from Kosovo are also studying”, said Rector Crisci.
Whereas, Professor Francesco Altimari presented the Albanological achievements, with special emphasis on the numerous publications of the Arbëresh literary heritage.
Congratulating them on the achievements of the University, President Thaçi stressed that he is proud of how the Arbëresh literary and cultural heritage is studied, published and preserved.
“To keep our connection unbroken, Kosovo has always been willing to support the Arbëresh settlements and culture in various ways”, said President Thaçi.
President Thaçi with the professors of the University of Cosenza has also discussed about the organization of joint cultural and Albanological projects such as conferences, seminars and congresses in various fields of common interest.
President Thaçi has also visited the HighTech technology laboratories and other laboratories of the University of Cosenza, which contribute to the establishment of manufacturing companies.
President Thaçi said that the implementation of the agreement between the University of Prishtina and the University of Cosenza opens perspective for Kosovo’s talents in this field with global perspective.
