The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani said that today we proudly mark the 113th anniversary of the Congress of Manastir or the Alphabet Congress.
“The Albanian language is closely linked to our national existence hence today we respectfully remember the activities of 50 delegates from 26 different cities, associations and clubs, who in 1908 in Manastir came together around the value of our identity – the Albanian language” emphasized the President.

Today we proudly mark the 113th anniversary of the Congress of Manastir or the Alphabet Congress.
The Albanian language is closely linked to our national existence hence today we respectfully remember the activities of 50 delegates from 26 different cities, associations and clubs, who in 1908 in Manastir came together around the value of our identity – the Albanian language.
This alphabet brought Albanians closer, not only with each other but also with Europe, a goal that is coming to fruition even in our times.
The Declaration of Independence of Kosovo was written with the same alphabet, and we must preserve, love and nurture our language because as the participant of the Congress of Manastir, Mit`hat Frashëri said: The foundation of knowledge and patriotism is the Albanian language.
