The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani has commemorated one of the most important activists for freedom and independence, President Rugova's associate, the wise man and prominent scholar of Kosovo Xhemajl Mustafa, on the twenty-first anniversary of his assassination.
President Osmani said that Xhema was special, as was his wisdom and behavior in politics and in life.
“He was determined, visionary and persistent in his viewpoints, but gentle in demeanor. “A genuine intellectual, Xhema laid the foundations for fair information of the international community on the Kosovo issue” emphasized Madam President.

Today, on the twenty-first anniversary of the assassination, we commemorate with deep respect Xhemajl Mustafa, one of the most important activists for freedom and independence, President Rugova's associate, the wise man and prominent scholar of Kosovo, Xhema of Llap and Xhema of Prishtina, who wrote for the dawn of freedom in the dark nights of captivity, not knowing that after this dawn had arrived, on a dark night, an insidious hand would extinguish it treacherously.
Xhema was special, as was his wisdom and behavior in politics and in life. He was determined, visionary and persistent in his viewpoints, but gentle in demeanor.
A genuine intellectual, Xhema laid the foundations for fair information of the international community on the Kosovo issue.
We will forever remember our Xhema. His work remains the best example of how to work wisely for the country, without stopping, until death. I say again that freedom will be complete only when there is justice for his murder, as well as that of many other activists killed after the war.
